Investors and shareholders of Searchmetrics GmbH are Neuhaus Partners GmbH, Iris Capital and Holtzbrinck Digital GmbH. Holtzbrinck Digital and CTO Marcus Tober jointly founded the company in 2007. Searchmetrics employees are also financially invested in the organization through an employee options program.
Holtzbrinck Digital
All online businesses of the Georg von Holtzbrinck Publishing Group operate under the umbrella of Holtzbrinck Digital. The companies within this portfolio include Holtzbrinck Networks (strategic online business), Holtzbrinck Ventures (venture capital for online start-ups), Holtzbrinck eLAB (Holtzbrinck start-up / incubator for online start-ups) as well as the performance network (online and dialog marketing), QUARTER MEDIA (online marketer) and Holtzbrinck Online Services (HOS), a technical service provider.
At the subsidiary level, Holtzbrinck Digital runs an active portfolio management with the goal of increasing the Group’s market position within the Internet business sector. In order to sustain the success of their investments, Holtzbrinck Digital has a strong group of experts in the areas of online marketing and traffic management, IT and administrative services. The combination of these experts and the intensive networking amongst the portfolio companies results in a great exchange of valuable know-how and the realization of powerful synergies.

Iris Capital
Iris Capital is a pan-European growth capital fund manager specializing in media, communication and IT. Since its inception in 1986, the Iris Capital team has invested more than €800 million. Iris Capital targets opportunities in service or technology companies seeking growth capital in order to realize their strategy. Iris provides active support to its portfolio companies on the basis of its strong sector specialization and experience. Based in Paris, the Iris Capital team has invested to date in 18 European countries.
The management team Marcus Tober and Dr. Horst Joepen are also shareholders of Searchmetrics.
