Bad Neighborhood

Websites can occupy a so-called Bad Neighborhood. This refers to all websites that have been severely downgraded by search engines.

For example, they may have violated a search engines’ guidelines. Bad Neighborhood websites appear either far down in the search results or not at all. For example, websites containing terms like “gambling”, “casino”, “pornography” or “Viagra” are classified as Bad Neighbors. Be wary of links to or from Bad Neighbors! They will have a negative effect on your own position in the search results. In evaluating a website, search engines often look at the status of websites that have links to it.
