Top Domains by Market Share
Looking at the market share of the top electronics domains, we used the keywords for which the website ranks on the first page of the Google search results. The higher the electronics retailers rank, the greater their market share is.
- Different niches have different leaders e.g. the top website for searches related to barebone computers is newegg.com.
- Amazon is NOT the leading website across the electronics industry – it is second to bestbuy.com.
- Most electronics retailers fail to provide relevant content for informational searches, although these make up around 50% of electronics queries.
- Using Google Lighthouse, we find that electronics websites perform slightly better than other industries, with an average Performance score of 88.9 out of 100.
